En 19 ans, Soif de jouer a créé et organisé 23 tournois du Circuit ITF Senior (l’ancien nom de l’ITF Senior Masters Tour). Malgré quelques insuffisances, ce circuit présente pour les clubs, comme pour les participants, le meilleur format de jeu pour les seniors.
Réservé aux plus de 35 ans
Depuis 1979, la Fédération internationale de tennis (ITF) a structuré le circuit mondial des “anciens”, de la catégorie « plus de 35 ans » jusqu’aux « plus de 85 ans », chaque catégorie bénéficiant d’un classement mondial messieurs et dames en simple, en double et en mixte. L’ITF avait d’abord repris les tournois VITA (Veterans International Tennis Association) fondés dans les années 1950.
Si en 1979, on comptait 50 tournois dans 20 pays, en 2022, l’ITF Senior Masters Tour en rassemblait plus de 400. C’est trop, à notre avis ! Les Etats-Unis sont la nation qui en organise le plus (80) devant l’Espagne (47) et l’Allemagne (34). 27000 joueurs et joueuses y ont participé.
Ces tournois sont répartis en 6 catégories dont les championnats mondiaux et continentaux.
Les joueurs gagnent plus ou moins de points pour les classements mondiaux (simple, double et mixte) suivant le grade du tournoi et le stade atteint.

Inscription
Tous les joueurs doivent avoir un IPIN (licence internationale) pour participer à un tournoi du Circuit ITF Senior. Pour l’obtenir, www.itftennis.com/IPIN. Pour être éligible dans une catégorie d’âge le joueur doit avoir atteint cet âge minimum le 31 décembre de l’année au cours de laquelle la compétition a lieu. Toutes les inscriptions et retraits doivent être effectués auprès de l’ITF via le compte IPIN ou par fax. Les retraits après la date limite doivent être faits auprès du juge-arbitre du tournoi et de l’ITF.

ITF Senior Masters Tour
The ITF Masters Masters Tour seeks to promote the growth, development and continuing interest in Seniors tennis through the conduct of international competitions at different locations throughout the world, which engenders good will between nations.
The ITF Senior Masters Tour is comprised of the best international seniors tournaments staged by its member nations worldwide including the annual ITF Young Seniors/Seniors/Super-Seniors World Team and Individual Championships. National Associations are responsible for proposing tournaments for inclusion in the Circuit, subject to the final approval of the ITF Seniors Committee who govern the geographical distribution and grading of Circuit tournaments.
The ITF Senior Masters Tour provides a platform for seniors players to measure their standard against players from other nations and by reference to the ITF Seniors World Individual ranking and ITF Seniors World Team ranking, which determine the ITF Year End No.1 player and nation in each of the recognized age groups.
Entry
IPIN: All players must have an IPIN and valid ipin membership to enter an ITF Senior Tour event. If players do not already have an IPIN they must go to http://www.itftennis.com/IPIN to register.
To be eligible to participate in any age group, a player shall have reached the minimum age limit by 31st December of the year in which the competition is held.
All entries and withdrawals to be made to the ITF via your ipin account or by fax.
Withdrawals after the freeze deadline must be made to the tournament referee and ITF office
